Ace Your Law School Application with These 5 Tips

For those aspiring legal eagles, the end of undergraduate work means the beginning of law school. But before you can go forward and get that legal degree, you have to go through the law school admissions process.
Five Tips to Score Big on Law School Admissions
The application and interview for law school can be daunting, but these tips can help:

  1. Research like crazy. Whether you choose a traditional law school or opt for online degree programs, the importance of research cannot be overstated.
  2. Ace your LSAT. If you are going to spend three years in law school, it is worth your time to spend many weeks on studying for the test that affects your admission prospects. It’s an unnatural test; no one is born a great LSAT-taker. Study early and often.
  3. Know what makes you unique. Why do you want to be a lawyer? What about the legal profession draws you? What positive impact can you have on the profession and on the clients you serve? Know what makes you unique, and play it up to your advantage.
  4. Take time with your personal statement. This is your personal introduction to law school admissions counselors and representatives. Your personal statement should be an engaging and accurate representation of you and your goals.
  5. Prepare adequately for the admissions interview. When you are offered an admissions interview, do your research into who will be interviewing you and what is be expected while you are there.

Finally, be make sure all of your requirements are complete. The worst thing you can possibly do is fill out the perfect application, give the best interview that the admissions committee has seen in a long time, but then drop the ball on something very simple, such as sending the appropriate transcripts.
Make sure you take care of all the details, no matter how small they might seem.
